About this claim

Definition
Experiencer traverses or is shown multiple distinct realms during the NDE: tiered heavens, graded spiritual planes, levels differentiated by light/vibration/spiritual development. More than a single spirit world; explicit stratification.
Inclusion criteria
Passage describes multiple distinct realms with experiential differences (light, inhabitants, vibration) during the NDE. 'I moved through different levels' or 'I was shown several realms' count.
Exclusion criteria
Single unified spirit world without stratification. Generic 'the other side' without levels. Doctrinal references to heavens not tied to experience.

I exploded into a new light one million times brighter than the Second Heaven; thus the Third Heaven. Here, my body was still human but so much white light shining from it I could not believe my eyes.

Context: The experiencer describes ascending through seven explicitly numbered heavenly realms, each with distinct characteristics including exponentially increasing brightness, changing body forms, and different inhabitants.

Review note: The passage provides extensive first-person experiential descriptions of seven distinct, explicitly numbered heavenly realms with clear stratification (increasing light/glory by factors of a million, progressive changes in body form from human to sun-like, different inhabitants and activities), fully satisfying the inclusion criteria; the prior verdict of 'mentions' is too conservative and should

I was taken to many different levels by this friend and learned that anything is possible in this place. I can't remember most of the levels as each one seemed more complex than the last but I do remember the lower levels so to speak. I'm sure I was taken to higher places but I am not to remember these places as my life here would be affected. I think there may be about seven or possibly more but I have a basic memory of about three or four.

Context: The experiencer describes being guided through multiple distinct levels of varying complexity during the NDE.

Review note: The passage explicitly describes traversal of multiple distinct levels with clear stratification (lower vs. higher, increasing complexity, estimated count of seven or more), directly satisfying the inclusion criteria; I agree with the prior verdict.

I already described the structure of higher dimensions: the lowest is a basement -storage with all our darkened energy patterns: our traumas, fears, all the destroyed energy. It can be repaired on this level, so it is in a way a very precious dimension. Above is a beautiful landscape, sunny, meadow-like, flowery, waterfalls, gardens. It is also very interesting as it shows dry and crippled energy of our memories and experience. Higher is the fairy land. Above it a blue sky with clouds that serve as a option for higher vibrations that we need to rise while travelling through consecutive planes. Above the blue sky there is a entrance to cosmic realms. Everyone reports: I see Cosmos, dark blue with stars. There are several rings of cosmic planes, I assisted travelling up to third 'heaven', but I know that it goes higher, because next portal was visible.

Context: The experiencer describes the layered structure of higher dimensions encountered during guided sessions, explicitly listing multiple distinct levels from basement to cosmic realms.

Review note: The passage explicitly describes multiple stratified realms differentiated by vibration, inhabitants, and qualities (basement, earthly landscapes, fairy land, blue sky, cosmic planes with multiple rings), directly matching the claim definition; I agree with the prior verdict.

Context: The experiencer explicitly confirms stratified realms matching Hindu descriptions, and throughout the narrative describes the grey area, a halfway point level with wise men, and higher levels differentiated by spiritual attainment.

Review note: The passage explicitly states 'level upon level upon level' and describes experientially distinct realms (grey suffering area, halfway point with wise men, higher levels of light) with different inhabitants and spiritual gradations, fully satisfying the inclusion criteria; I agree with the prior verdict.

There were experiences of other realms. the first realm was a cave with several black souls fighting each other so I call that grinding and gnashing of teeth they were doing because it was such a small area for them all to be standing waiting to throw the ones that descended into that realm over the cliff into a hole in the ground. The next realm was temptations of earthly places and I felt myself descending toward the earthly place but it was not where my body was and the being that was holding my hand let go and I began descending out of the tunnel

Context: The experiencer explicitly names and describes sequential distinct realms with different characteristics encountered during the NDE tunnel journey.

Review note: The passage explicitly describes multiple distinct afterlife realms with experiential differences (cave realm with black souls fighting, temptation realm with earthly places, flickering white light realm, total darkness, and golden light heaven's gate), meeting the inclusion criteria for stratified realms; this supports rather than merely mentions the claim, and I disagree with the prior 'mentions

Next thing I remember was being in the upper level of Hell and feeling very anxious, like my gut was tied up with fear.

Context: The experiencer is taken by an Angel through multiple distinct realms: Hell, Earth's atmosphere with bound evil spirits, a planetary mountain with a mansion, nebular clouds in the universe, and the Grand Building/Temple where family reunions and life review occur.

Review note: The passage explicitly describes traversal of multiple distinct realms with experiential differences (Hell with fear/anxiety, outer atmosphere with bound evil spirits, a planetary location with a mansion under construction, cosmic nebulae, and the Grand Building filled with brilliant white reactive light), satisfying the inclusion criteria for stratified realms; I agree the prior verdict of 'menti

There are definitely, absolutely, other planes to existence!

Context: The experiencer explicitly formulated this as their 'sound bite' to remember the experience, and the passage also describes traversing distinct locations: the bright realm of light-beings, a dark corridor, and a cloudy greeting place, plus references to 'many strands or levels of consciousness all around me.'

Review note: I agree with the prior verdict: the experiencer explicitly asserts multiple planes of existence and narratively traverses at least three distinct spatial/experiential zones with different characteristics, satisfying the inclusion criteria for stratified realms, though the stratification is spatial/sequential rather than explicitly hierarchical by vibration or spiritual development.

I seemed to leave them but I don't remember moving, before coming back to them later. I went to the light, which was above them, and it was just pure unconditional love and acceptance.

Context: The experiencer describes moving from a void of darkness, to a realm with beings and deceased family in a semi-circle, then upward to a distinct realm of pure light above them, with different qualities in each zone.

Review note: The passage describes at least three experientially distinct zones—an initial void/darkness, an intermediate realm with beings and family members, and an elevated realm of pure light 'above them'—constituting explicit spatial stratification, so I agree with the prior verdict of 'supports,' though the stratification is somewhat implicit rather than explicitly labeled as 'levels' or 'planes.'

God showed me some of the worlds off of the Tunnel of Grays. The highest in elevation he called the 'Twinkle Lights'. They are tiny dots of light that twinkle like stars. Underneath that world is the 'Sparkle Lights'. These are larger dots and sparkle like diamonds. Another world was called the 'White Souls'. They look like fluffy white clouds. One world I named The Living World because when I looked into the doorway it resembled the earth.

Context: The experiencer is describing multiple distinct realms shown to her by God, each with different appearances and inhabitants, arranged in a stratified structure along the Tunnel of Grays.

Review note: downgraded: quote not verbatim. The passage explicitly describes multiple distinct, experientially differentiated realms (Twinkle Lights, Sparkle Lights, White Souls, The Living World, hell) arranged by elevation along a stratified tunnel, directly satisfying the claim's inclusion criteria; I agree with the prior verdict.

It was a "third heaven" ascent in that there was a feeling of ascent, the ascent was subsequent to a sense of bodily death and there were three levels to the process of simplification of: levitation, body-shaped soul, and faculty of intellect.

Context: The experiencer retrospectively maps three phases of ascent onto the concept of a 'third heaven' after studying St. Paul, but notes these categories were not applied during the experience itself.

Review note: I agree with the prior verdict of 'mentions': the passage describes three distinct phases with experiential differences (bright light/levitation, diffuse light/body-shaped soul, void/intellect alone) that loosely parallel stratified realms, but the experiencer explicitly states the 'third heaven' framing was applied retrospectively after reflection on St. Paul rather than experienced as distinct r

Then I noticed way up far away on my left front was a glory of light .I had telescopic vision and looked closer .it was a big throne of some kind and a few hundred were waiting in a sort of a line to see or visit with the person on the throne

Context: The experiencer describes a single heavenly realm with spatial differentiation—a throne area visible far above and away—but does not describe traversing or being shown multiple distinct stratified realms.

Review note: I agree with the prior verdict: the passage describes one unified realm with spatial variation (a landing area, nearby structures, and a distant throne), but there is no explicit traversal of multiple distinct tiered realms or graded spiritual planes, so 'mentions' is appropriate rather than 'supports'.

plus at this time I could see the left top corner of my room opening up in some portal about 1.5m wide. and I could see the earth in slow animation

Context: The experiencer describes being with God and souls while simultaneously observing Earth through a portal, suggesting two distinct realms but without explicit stratification or traversal of multiple differentiated planes.

Review note: I agree with the PRIOR verdict of 'mentions' because the passage describes what could be interpreted as two realms (the divine/spiritual space with God and souls, and the earthly realm seen through a portal), but there is no explicit stratification, hierarchical levels, or description of traversing multiple differentiated planes that would clearly satisfy the inclusion criteria for 'multiple disti

the more I rose, the brighter God's LIGHT would become

Context: The experiencer knew that ascending further would bring progressively brighter divine light, implying stratification, but was stopped before actually traversing multiple distinct realms.

Review note: I agree with the prior verdict: the passage implies spiritual progression and stratification through ascending levels of light, but the experiencer never actually traverses or experiences multiple distinct realms with differentiated properties—they ascend only 2-3 feet above their body before being sent back, so the stratification remains anticipatory rather than experientially confirmed.

I was then pulled down this strange tunnel and into this brightly lit area where four men dressed in white robes were and they were all white looking. One came towards me and I glided over to another room where this being (I know it was God) was seated on a throne.

Context: The experiencer moves from a tunnel into a brightly lit area and then into a separate throne room.

Review note: I agree with the prior verdict: the passage describes movement through spatially distinct locations (tunnel, brightly lit area with robed figures, throne room with God) that could loosely suggest stratification, but the narrative never explicitly characterizes these as differentiated spiritual realms, levels, or planes—only as separate rooms/areas, which falls short of the explicit stratification

Growing up out of the grove was a great mountain with beautiful inlayed steps ascending to the heavens.

Context: The experiencer describes ascending a mountain with steps where people are stationed at various levels, with a radiant light at the top, suggesting stratification.

Review note: The passage describes a mountain with steps and people positioned at each step below a superior light realm at the top, which hints at stratification, but does not explicitly describe traversal of multiple distinct realms with different qualities—rather a single structured environment with a hierarchy; 'mentions' is appropriate and I agree with the prior verdict.

It was a very black darkness (it contrasted strongly with the castle in my other NDE).

Context: The experiencer describes a first NDE as a dark chaotic space and contrasts it with a castle seen in another NDE, suggesting different realms across separate experiences.

Review note: I agree with the prior verdict of 'mentions': the passage references two distinct experiential realms (dark chaos vs. a golden castle) across separate NDEs, which touches on the idea of differentiated afterlife spaces, but these are not explicitly stratified tiers within a single NDE, so the claim is not fully supported.

traveled through one of those lovely cracks to a place I think was made of alabaster with many pools and gardens. Did life review, quite interesting - 'tended to, taught, loved and replenished', more travel.

Context: The experiencer describes moving through a crack during surgery to reach a distinct realm, then references 'more travel' suggesting continued movement between spaces.

Review note: I agree with the PRIOR verdict of 'mentions': the passage describes at least two distinct experiential spaces (the alabaster realm and the tunnel with light) across two separate NDE episodes, and 'more travel' hints at further movement, but there is no explicit stratification language (levels, tiers, vibration differences) required for 'supports,' making 'mentions' the appropriate classification.

Spiritual World: There are several groups. The good beings trying to help, there are the tricksters (mentioned in Norse/American Indian lore, etc.) and then the bad beings.

Context: The narrator describes a spiritual world with distinct groupings of beings, implying some stratification, but without explicit traversal of multiple distinct realms during the NDE itself.

Review note: The passage mentions a spiritual world with differentiated groups of beings and references 'doorways on the side of the light tunnel,' which touches on stratification, but never explicitly describes traversing or being shown multiple distinct realms with experiential differences in light, vibration, or spiritual development; the prior verdict of irrelevant is slightly too strong since there is a m

I was taken to a place where I could observe the world, literally...as in watching a globe spinning in space... I was transported through millions of light years of space in moments and shown many planets and places... At some point, I returned to the area I had first come to and I understood I was about to meet a being of the highest order.

Context: The experiencer moves through several distinct locations during the NDE: a garden, a vantage point observing Earth, deep space, and finally back to meet a supreme being.

Review note: The passage describes movement through distinct environments (garden, cosmic observation point, alien worlds, return to meeting place for a supreme being), which touches on multiple realms, but these are not characterized as tiered heavens or graded spiritual planes with stratification by light/vibration/spiritual development — they are more like spatial travels, so 'mentions' is appropriate and I

I have come to the conclusion that I must have been on the etheric plane, the one closest to the physical.

Context: The experiencer reflects on both their childhood NDE and later astral projection, concluding they were on a single plane each time.

Review note: The passage explicitly identifies only one realm visited (the etheric plane) in both experiences, and the astral projection account notes the absence of 'wild colors and inhabitants populating the astral planes,' implying no traversal of multiple distinct realms; I agree with the PRIOR verdict that this contradicts the claim of multiple distinct afterlife realms with stratification.

Methodology

  • First-person experiential evidence, not population base rates. This reflects what the 30 most topically-similar NDE/OBE/ADC accounts report, not a survey of the general population.
  • “Contradicts” means a specific experiencer explicitly denied the claim, not that the community disagrees.
  • Supporting quotes are verbatim. If a quote isn’t attached, we didn’t surface a supporting claim.
  • Pipeline: semantic retrieval over first-person NDE/OBE/ADC narratives, automated classification per account, council review on high-stakes verdicts.
